A wandering merchant that claims to hail from the Far East, Yugen is an esoteric spoken versed in Traditional Far Eastern Medicine and the art of Onmyojutsu. He can often be seen with a yanyuedao secured on his back and folding various origami birds. While he seems to keep "covered up", those with keen eyes may notice his rather peculiar pair.

One might observe Yugen write intricate patterns and otherwise on slips of paper before folding them into various origami creatures or shapes. Breathing life into these forms with a bit of his aether and something else before carefully tucking them away on his person. Those familiar magics of the Far East would recognize the practice as one form of such arcane magics, Onmyojutsu.

A man of few words, yet with a voice smooth, airy, and rather pleasant to the ears (Or horns, or not at all--whatever your prefs--this one definitely must sing or recite poetry). Each string of words woven together left a lingering chill of a tone that seemed simply natural with his voice. Without a hint of malice, yet without clear signs of warmth. A strange indifference that lingers on his tone of voice may come odd to some. While others, more familiar with certain types of spoken creatures, may find it familiar. He often chooses to speak in more "poetic" terms, often describing things, persons, or events in such a manner.

Word on the street is he works as the main consultant of Shingetsu, a traditional Far Eastern medicine shop found in the Mist. There, one can purchase general far eastern medicines, remedies, obtain perscriptions, consultation, and maybe even find curious limited trinkets. They say he is willing to even provide general care and check ups to those who are on the more 'unsavory' or 'gray' side of the law.

Lunar Ear Cuffs

A gift given to him by his previous clan leader, Xue, these ear cuffs are made of gold with a golden chain that holds six pearls each. Each pearl has varying darkened portions to resemble different phases of the moon. They've been enchanted with auspicious magic to help mask his draconic aether. He is almost never seen without them on.

Inro

An inro usually found somewhere around his waist. It carries within it various small enchanted paper pouches of differing powders, small pills of traditional Far Eastern medicines, and an old Far Eastern stamp seal with a draconic pattern on it. The only proof of use being faint traces of golden yellow ink that remain.

Jade Talisman

A gift given to him by the previous Mangetsu clan's censor for Personnel and Revenue, Huili. A beautifully polished jade donut tied to red and golden silken threads. The jade talisman once acted as a passkey to travel within the archives of the clan “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” can be found engraved on it.

Yǎnyuèdāo

A yǎnyuèdāo given to him by the previous Mangetsu clan's censor for War, Weimin, that was made by his wife. It is adorn with silver moon and mist motifs and four faded silk ribbons he had collected through the years; White, Black, Red, and Green.

Shikigami

Hidden under his sleeves, in his sash, and perhaps other places is enchanted paper that has been written on with an older form of Hingan script then folded into various origami shapes. Those with such abilities may recognize a presence of content spirits about the papers.

Pouch & Folding Fan

A typical money pouch can usually be found on his person hidden within his sash as well as a rather old, yet well taken care of, Far Eastern folding fan. The ornamental fan appears to be made of wood and papers. Painted with the scene of a bamboo forest along riverside and broken bridge.

History

Birth Lahr Moh is born in a clutch of seven within Meracydia to an elder dragon of Ratatoskr brood during the relatively early years of the Third Astral.
Early Years Lahr Moh having an affinity for travel, song, and curiosity to other spoken races, developed into a Falak with a mutation of keeping limbs.
Adult Years Lahr Moh participates in the Allag-Meracydia war, eventually getting captured and experimented on by researchers.

History

Birth Third Astral Era ~6,000 years ago: Lahr Moh is born in a clutch of seven within Meracydia to an elder dragon of Ratatoskr brood during the relatively early years of the Third Astral Era after the Calamity of Fire and before the Allagan Empire. Lahr Moh becomes friends with another dragon born relatively in the same time frame as them. The two grow up together and often traveled with one another until the wider spread of the Allagan empire. Having an affinity for travel, song, and curiousity to other spoken races, Lahr Moh developed into a Falak with a mutation of keeping limbs to continue to "Enjoy the land beneath our feet and the curiousities made by others."
Life of Captivity ~5,000 years ago: Lahr Moh participates in the Allag-Meracydia war, eventually getting captured and experimented on by researchers becoming a Mist Dragon. Later, becoming used in creating a chimera. Body left in preservation tank and eyes placed into the body of a chimera, Lahr Moh is labeled 'Chimera #54230-014'. Being imparted with knowledge and skills through experimentation, manipulation, and brainwashing.
Call of the Moon ~5,000 years ago: 'Chimera #54230-014' escapes the facility during combat testing where in a blind rage, it consumes its creators and 'siblings'. Witnessing the endless night sky and moon Lahr Moh's brood instincts take over in their regained freedom causing them to fly northeastward. The chimera spends their time subconciously wandering the lands consuming various forms of local flora and fauna in what is now known as the Far East. Scaring locals, they are tricked and sealed in a secluded cave.
"Laho" By passing chance, they are freed years later by passing traders. Kitsumeyo and her father adopt the spoken looking creature, giving them the name Raho (歌火). Unable to say it correctly at first, they instead adopt the name 'Laho'. During his time with the family he learns a bit about medicinal plants, trade, ancient Far Eastern culture, and families of mankind. After spending their time with the entire lifespan of Kitsumeyo and her family, Laho returns to wandering.
Eras of Conflict Fourth Umbral Era: Now a bit more familiar with the ways of man, they cover much of their appearance when coming to and from settlements. Eventually, they are recognized by the Onishishu at the time, captured, and confined in Heaven-on-High. Laho is trapped within and forgotten as the fall of the Allagan Empire comes forth from the Calamity of Earth. During their time within, Laho obtains an intimate understanding of various Allagan constructs and bioweapons as they constantly attempt to escape their newfound prison.
Tower of Heroes Spending several eras locked within due to the various devices installed and maintained by the Onishishu. Unable to escape through the barriers and top of the tower, they attempt to escape by traveling downward where they discover the trials of would-be leadersand heroes. Using attempts of an active party at the time, they escape by latching misty aetherial form to one of the exhausted who are teleported out. Unknowningly, their escaped is witnessed by a developing young fox auspice.
Changed World Pre-doma ~1,000 years ago from modern date: Having been trapped within Heaven-on-High for several millennia, Laho returned to wandering with nothing but survival instincts to guide them. Falling into a state of endless hunger, Laho began slaughtering countless monsters, animals, and otherwise in the sunlight while targeting livestock during the night. Due to their unkept appearance they were often mistaken as some sort of evil kami, typically called some sort of Oni or an Uwabami due to their appetite for fresh flesh and alcohol. However, thanks to the lingering subconcious of his true self, Laho was not typically known to attack and eat man. Although they had been seen doing so before, it was typically those who had done others wrong.

In Madness' Haze It is thanks to these rumors that their old dragon friend, now known as Rairon, finds them in the Far East. Identifying and recognizing them by their eyes, Rairon pleads to instinct driven "Laho" in attempts to draw Lahr Moh's subconcious into waking. The two end up in an altercation that leads into a fight. Unable to shake the programed chimera's chains, Rairon is struct down by Laho who consumes the hidden dragon, gaze and all. Feeling the aether of distant fond memories passed, Laho realises what they have done. In grief, they head towards the Yanxian mountains to live in seculsion. There in their wandering, an eight tailed kitsune approaches them. Using their auspicious abilities, they clear the haze that clouded Laho's mind and invites them to join the Mangetsu Clan under the name "Lánlóng" (岚龙).
The Sweetest Dream Lanlong swears an oath to Xue to "protect the Mangetsu Clan and its honor", becoming a trusted and loyal blade for the Mangetsu. Under the care of the Mangetsu, he begins to learn about Traditional Far Eastern medicine, Geomancy, and Onmyojutsu. Paired with the guidance of the current clan Leader, Xue, Lanlong fixes his appearance as well as the rumors of being some sort of malevolent kami. Posing as a ryu of misty mountains that protects lost travelers during the night who slayed the "malevolent kami" that wandered into the mountains. During one of his nightly missions, he discovers a battered and bruised unknown fox child attempting to escape her pursuers. Rather than dying and being eatten by their assailants, the child leaps from mountainside in attempts to take their own life. Only to be rescued and brought back to the Mangetsu by Lanlong.
"Yugen" Pre-Doma ~800 years ago: During his time in the Mangetsu clan, he eventually meets one of Xue's children, a kitsune woman who went by Xiuying. The two eventually fall in love, and the woman reveals her true name as Miharu while Lahr Moh reveals his own. Unable to speak the tongue of dragons however, Himari gives him the name "Yugen" (幽玄) instead. Due to the gap in their social standing, the two are unable to solidify their relationship. Yugen eventually makes a deal with Xue to assist in an upcoming battle with rivaling clan. Succeeding, albeit at a cost, Yugen is given a higher rank in the clan cementing his ability to wed Miharu. The kitsune child he had brought into the clan many years ago decides to leave the Mangetsu some nights after. Yugen confronts the child, ultimately letting them leave.
